Has a nice, subtle low hum, which is actually from a plane flying overhead. Also contains knocking sounds, which is most likely the door being a bit loose. Would be awesome for horror atmospheres. Button pressed on the inside of a lift. The lift sets in motion for a short amount of time. Announcement says "4th floor" and doors open to an empty foyer. Door close automatically, button pressed and lift moves back to 3rd floor. Recorded on a tascam dr-01 in stereo at 16bit 48khz wav.

This was recorded in the interior of a truck stop, somewhere on the road in oklahoma. General store ambiance can be heard throughout, but the real highlight is the electronic door chime that seems to happen intermittently, when someone enters or exits the store.

Recorded this while going to the loo in a camping trip. The door was pretty creaky so i decided to record it because it could be a good sound effect. Of course i didn't have any equipment with me so the sound was recorded on my phone, which is why it's a bit echoey and shabby. This is a stereo recording of an exterior glass and metal door on a university campus in new jersey, usa. There are several articulations of the door here that lend themselves to creature and robot noises. There is a whimper and a sigh and a screech as well as some ticking and clicking. This reminded me very much of baby godzilla type noises. I've put these into iris 2 and had a good time making synth patches with them. Stereo recording at 48khz 24bit on a tascam d-40x using the internal microphones.

Xy stereo recording from gärdet subway station in stockholm. This focuses on an older trains doors, various steams and similar "heavy" sound elements. In post: edited in pro tools with som bass cutting (eq) and automation to make some sounds stand out but still sound realistic. Put on a light compressor and pich-shifted down some elements to give more depth. This was in someway inspired by "dead space" tram and door sounds but slightly less "massive" and haunting. Ps. There's 2 versions of this recording. The one with "nr" in the title is noise reduced so sounds like the doors and steam are somewhat separated from the background. Hope you like it.

Recording of myself playing a home-made instrument constructed from a large suspended metal door affixed with bits of thin aluminum sheeting of varying sizes and bent at varying angles. I "played" this by striking and plucking the bits of aluminum and recording the results through a piezo contact mic adhered to the door.
